As good as it gets in Fitzgerald. Not too many places to eat here but my friend who lives in town brought me here because the burgers and pulled pork and chicken sandwiches have coleslaw on them and it a great place to get a burger, I noticed the local restaurants are dying because of the chain restaurants and stores move in. Food was served quickly, refills of drinks came promptly, and service great, They were closing up for the day and we were one of a few groups left, We did not feel rushed at all to hurry up and leave. This is a no frills place, I see its for sale (serious inquiries only it says) So support your local small business and have a nice burger and a sweet tea. I hope who ever buys it someday maintains the same level of good food and service.
I live here in town and i find that this is really the best place for a good sit down meal. the Big Mama is my favorite. the prices aren't high at all and you get a lot of food.
Open for breakfast and lunch. Breakfast starts at 6, pretty much the basic menu of eggs, pancakes, a few omelettes, hash browns, grits, coffee is decent. Good solid breakfast fare. What's important here is that Floyds seems to be one of the few open-early breakfast places in Fitzgerald, for some peculiar reason. Lunch is where Floyds really shines, with very good burgers and various bbq meat sandwiches, hot dogs (train wreck - chili, cheese, and slaw dog), various sides of cole slaw (very good), baked beans (very good), fries (good), sweet potato fries (very good), fried pickles, green beans, and a few more. The burgers are very good, big, juicy affairs. The shredded pork sandwich is my fav. If you walk around back you can see where the meat gets smoked. Lunch menu consists of plates of meat and sides, or just sandwiches and whatever sides you want ordered a la carte. Table BBQ sauce is of a sweet kind, not hot. If you like hot sauce, you might want to sneak a bottle of your favorite in with you in a coat pocket. The pork is smoked very nicely, good aroma and flavor. Floyds is extremely popular with the locals, and it fills up to the gills pretty quick for lunch, so expect a crowd! Waitresses are experienced and handle the rush with skill and style. Give 'em a nice tip for pete's sake. So if you find yourself in the nest of happiness that is Fitzgerald to pick up a trailer and end up spending much longer than expected because the trailer isn't quite ready nor correctly built to specifications for reasons that no one seems to be able to explain, I suggest going to Floyds when hunger strikes and your fun meter is pegged, to take the edge off your stress and put that smile back on your face. It beats the daylights out the chains.
